A Guide to Face Primers
A primer creates a smooth, even surface between skincare and makeup. Hydrating primers add a cushion for dry skin, mattifying primers control shine and blur pores for oily skin, and color-correcting primers neutralize redness, yellowness or dullness. Apply a small amount after moisturizer and sunscreen, let it settle for a minute and then apply foundation. Wash it off properly in the evening, since primers can contain silicones that cling to the skin.
